They have a good farm and assets to make some deals. They have a good amount of draft picks available too. They haven't been shy about making moves and they can dabble a little in free agency too.

Cane's are a really good team, it's just hard to get to that elite level. Running into Boston never helps. But it looks like a pretty bright future over there.

Yes to better goalie and a top 6 forward. There is a deal to be made by giving up some of that defense depth.
Goalies that can be had are Holtby, Fluery , Andersen, Lunqvist , Kudobin, Howard , Murray, and Greiss.
Top 6 forward: Nylander for Hamilton and at least a 3rd
Mike Hoffman, Tyler Tafoli, Evgeni Dadinov.
Andreas Johnsson for Hyden Fluery

Goaltending was not the reason they lost to Boston. As much as I dislike Marchand and crew I need to tip my cap to them. They were better. Injuries did not help. The Canes could use an upgrade in net but don't overpay (Darling..cough cough). I am more concerned about getting Hamilton and Svechnikov resigned than going to the free agent market for a top six winger.

Jesus. I love Nylander, but Hamilton was the best defenceman in the NHL this year.

They didn’t have a number one goaltender and are a little green yet . That’s pretty much it .

Nylander and a 2nd is my opinion, I don't think a 1st will happen and actually Toronto does not have a 3rd til 2022
plus he only has 1 more year left at a good cap hit, have fun signing him !

No actually I think Nylander is more valuable to the Canes right now as they wish to up their goal production and nylander is 3 years younger. I stand by my original proposal, sorry 'bout that.
